I am grateful for women.

I am grateful for women in my family tree and for those I have no relation to.

I am grateful for women of all colors and from all places.

I am grateful for women who tell their stories and women who remain silent waiting for their stories to be told.

I am grateful for women who choose how they will break society's mold and those that choose to conform.

I am grateful for women who are quiet and who are loud.

I am grateful for women who raise strong daughters and for those that remain childless.

I am grateful for women who are old but young at heart.

I am grateful for women who inspire me and for those that make me think.

I am grateful for all of the women in my life, the ones I love, the ones that teach me, the ones who I laugh with, and the ones that keep me strong.

I am grateful for women who are different from me, who make different choices and aspire to different things because these women allow us to see that there are so many different things to be and ways to be them.

I am grateful for women, not only on National Women’s Day but every day of my life.

In this lifetime, I have been gifted with more than my fair share of strong and brave women. They are the people of my earliest memories, they protected me and raised me in their liking. Without them, I would be adrift in this world.

To these women, I thank you for the love. I thank you for the lessons. And most importantly, I thank you for giving me a resilient soul.
